5They were good but I liked the Ultrasone 780  Apr 17, 2008 By Stuart Floyd
I liked these allot the sound is great and they are comfy as they are cloth cups instead of leather/vinyl on most other models and they provide a full surround sound with more highs.

I have the 780's which are NOT the proline and are about $150 cheaper and to me look better as well, not a real issue since I wouldn't be wearing these on the streets.

The 780's appear better made. The 750's come with two cords of which plug into the left headphone and it has a great case for storage but the sound of the 780's was fuller, richer and live like.

I tested each and for me the lessor model was better but hearing is very different to each person as well as the styles of music you listen to, or movies and gaming as well. As always amazon is great in all they do, at least in my 500 purchases over the past few years. I returnd the more expensive ones and kept the 780's and some extra cash too.

5The Amature audiophile's dream  Jul 10, 2009 By Lucas
These headphones are a whole new, and wonderful experience for me. I read all the reviews, and saw all the skepticism. People jabber on and on over whether the S-Logic is "real" or not. So I was skeptical too, but I found them for a great deal (only $239.99) so I decided I'd give them a shot. The headphones showed up at my door a few days ago, and before I even got the headphones on I was just impressed. They come in only the packaging that is necessary, the carrying case which includes every part you need, even a demo cd, and that's inside a simple box. What really impressed me was that they aren't trying to impress anyone with stupid gimmicks. They are just selling an outstanding set of headphones.

Anyway, I popped in the demo cd while I was laying in bed, with my stereo behind me. The first thing I thought when the music started playing was "Crap, I gotta plug them in." The sound was so full, and evenly mixed that I thought I had left my stereo plugged into my computer. When I realized that what I was hearing was somehow coming from these headphones, I flipped out and decided I had to write a review to recommend these.
I also played some Mars Volta, and on "Teflon" it sounded like the drums were scattered around me... and on top of me. The surround sound is truly amazing.

So yes, great pair of headphones, and a perfect intro to Pro audio cuz they are cheaper than most serious pro headphones. I suddenly have a much deeper appreciation for German engineering...

4Exceptional listening experience  Feb 13, 2010 By Glenn Basden
I needed a replacement for my 10 year old Sony MDR-F1s and after a lot of research decided on the Pro 750s. They arrived today, and I already love them even before they have gone through the break in period. Sound quality is fantasitc - I'm hearing details I never did before on my F1s. The sound stage feels very wide and the bass is very well defined and not muddy at all.

The headphones come with a hard case that fits the headphones, spare ear cups, the 2 cords and the demo CD. The case is very well made and holds everything snugly with a bit of extra room for small accessories.

The only downside I've found is that the headphones are not as comfortable as the circumaural F1s. The closed design puts a bit more pressure on my head, and the velour material is not quite as comfortable as what Sony uses. The sound quality more than makes up for that though, in my opinion.

The overall volume was relatively low playing through my Zune 120 even with a Headroom Total Bithead headphone amp. I had to max volume on both devices to get it feeling really loud. Volume through my home stereo was fine, though.

5First real pair of 'phones  May 04, 2010 By seekadds "seekadds"
Let me preface with the fact that these Ultrasone Pro 750's are my first real cans. That said, they are simply impressing me more and more every day. They are bigger than I expected, but that is okay because they are my "at-home" pair anyway. Comfort is good, if a tad heavy. Build quality is more than adequate, just be careful because the metallic outer cups can easily get scratched, so skinning them is a good idea.

My pair has maybe 80 hours on it, and I have read that 200+ hours burn-in is required to break in the super-stiff drivers on these guys. So beware, if you need immediate gratification, note that these won't probably be sounding their best for at least a couple of months.

And now for the sound quality. Overall, they sound really good and they are very transparent and quite balanced across the frequency spectrum by my judgement. The bass has been continuously tightening up over the burn-in. However, I didn't get the best out of them until I bought a proper headphone amp. They still sound great out of my little Sansa Clip+, which can (barely) drive them to acceptable levels, but adding a better DAC and amp added some beef to the sound. Not that it was thin-sounding before an external amp, but, more distant perhaps. The amp really brings the sound more front & center. My main music genres include Indie Rock, and slow-to-medium-paced electronic music, which these cans really do well with. But occasionally I put on some classic rock, hip hop, or classical, and the PRo 750's are no slouch no matter what I throw at them.

I would say their best use is for in-depth yet fun music appreciation (which is what I mostly use them for), however they are good for movies and games as well. I would normally use headphones with a little larger sound stage (open-backed) for movie and especially for gaming, but the Pro 750's do fine.

In conclusion, they are definitely worth the price, even unamped. But these headphones can really benefit with some extra juice. =)

5Nice!  Mar 30, 2010 By Eric Mars
Bought the 580's and loved 'em so much I wanted more. These are more! Maybe not worth all the extra money unless you're an insane audiophile like me; same basic sound but more refined. I actually find the bass better on these even tho the 580's have 50mm drivers. Actually a lesson I learned a long time ago - cleaner high freq response will give the attacks on your bass sounds more definition and give them a lot more impact. If you love the Ultrasone sound you'll love these and won't look back.
