Some of the best out there Aug 11, 2009
By Michael J Dory I can't say enough good these about these headphones. I have a small music studio and I've got somewhere between ten and fifteen pairs of headphones around at any given time, but these are the best I've used yet. I've had mine for about four years, and they sound just as brilliant as they did after I'd first burned them in.
They don't sound like most headphones -- the drivers are meant to simulate the way your ears were meant to handle incoming audio, so they're actually off-center, shifted towards the front of your head, so it's more like wearing perfectly-aimed speakers. They sound big and open and aren't nearly as fatiguing as many larger sets, and they're light enough to wear for hours without much notice.
All in all, an incredible investment -- would absolutely buy again if ever damaged or lost.

Best Heaphones I have used as of yet. Aug 31, 2008

I've tried out many headphones and this one is very unique. The sound that comes out is crystal clear and so vibrant you feel as though you aren't wearing headphones when you listen to music or watch a movie. They are on the pricier side of the headphones world, but they are worth every penny.
If you are looking for a good comfortable headset, then search no more.
Only con these have is that the actual jack is the bigger version, so without using the converter you can't use it directly into a pc or Ipod, as these are meant to go directly into a sound system, or DJ amp.
All in all, Very good investment

One of my BEST purchases ever Jun 25, 2010

I have been in the market for headphones for a few months and had casually researched the best bang for buck headphones when I came across these. I had never heard of the company before but read good reviews and took a leap by purchasing them. It was a good call. I've had them for about 2 weeks and actually prefer using them watching blu-ray movies and playing video games as opposed to my surround sound, they're that good. Amazing sound and well worth the purchase. Highly recommend them.

Great imaging, but less than amazing sound. Jul 04, 2010
By M. A. Lane As promised, these phones deliver great imaging. The sound is pulled away from you a bit, and the stereo image is super wide. They also give a nice sense of depth.
The sound quality, however, is less than spectacular. I also own AKG k271 mkII's, and Sennheiser HD280s. Both sound better than these. The upper mids seem to be missing something, and the highs are definitely brittle and harsh. I probably have about 50 hours of burn in on these... maybe they need more? I'd love if the highs mellowed out a lot. The high end really seems to be the only thing, but it's killing me. It makes these phones very fatiguing.
As far as comfort goes, these are nice. They're soft and lightwight, and don't bother me in any way. The case is a great feature. The quick change earpads are neat, but I don't feel like they're that important. Detachable cord is a plus, as is having the choice of using straight or coiled.
I have really mixed feelings about these phones. My k271s remain my favorite, by far... but these would be 2nd if the highs were better. For the price I expected these to outperform my HD 280s, but they do not.
Nice Detailed Natural Sound May 03, 2011
By Mutant53 I bought these at Schmitt Music here in Frankurt Germany close to where I live. I really like the sound. I compared them with my slightly cheaper Sennheiser HD 515. At the same volume level the Ultrasone 650 is louder, learer, more efficient, more alive, the than the same sound setting of the Sennheiser. But in fairness the Ultrasone Pro-650s are better quality and slightly more expensive than the Sennheisers. But in this case you get what you pay for. The Ultrasones are a much better choice if you want to become immersed in your music. Having said all that I can only give 4 stars for the comfort level on my head the top strap is noticeable, since they are a little heavier. This can fixed by wearing a ball cap. It's probably just my head. For sound quality you can't beat them for the price ( 150 euro/$220)
