Description

Character eye-catching exclusive design and sand-grey coated. The HFI-680 catches the eye and enjoys your ears with an extraordinary balanced, natural and detailed sound image. Experience the complete isolation of closed-back headphones and the honest sound of open ones. The high class gold-plated drivers of the HFI-680 are very sensitive and provide a maximum of transparency.ULE-technology. To understand what ULE-technology does, you need to know that most headphone drivers produce low-frequency magnetic fields as they convert an electric signal into an acoustical signal you hear as music. In response, Ultrasone developed a special MU Metal shielding (ULE-technology) to reduce the radiation by up to 98% compared to current headphones. The ULE-technology has stood the test of international review and is recommended by technical surveillance organizations. Ultrasone originally developed the ULE-technology for professionals as they do spend half of their lives in headphones. But due to grand requests the ULE-technology has now been integrated in other Ultrasone headphone lines.S-Logic Natural Surround Sound. Through S-Logic Natural Surround, the sound moves out of your head and into the room around you. Consequently, the music is no longer confined, but breathing once again, spacious and organic. Direction and distance are more easily perceived - it's like being at a live concert (or in the studio). No additional equipment is necessary. So with just a pair of Ultrasones and your favorite audio device, prepare yourself for genuine 3-dimensional enjoyment!

5Clean, beautiful sound  Sep 07, 2010 By M. Beeman
For years I got sucked into the technology progression of smaller, more portable sounds that I could take on travel. I was recently using my Klipsch ear buds on the computer to listen in on music videos and to my library and decided it was time to return to some solid listening with a good set of headphones. I live near a medium sized city so it wasn't all that easy to listen before purchase so I just said to heck with it and bought these on line. These headphones are very nice to wear and very, very nice to listen with. I have owned a variety of high-end stereos with great speakers for 30 years and these h-phones rate with the best, although the headphone experience will always be different than speakers and that is neither positive nor negative. My listening includes mainly jazz, blues, and a growing collection of world music utilizing many different acoustic instruments and electronic sounds. The fun of this includes listening to all my music over again as it all sounds different now. Great choice. Excellent listening experience!

4Easy to drive (iPhone, iPod) Big Bass and forgiving Highs - A fun sounding headset  Jul 29, 2011 By Michael Russell
1. Easy to drive...so you do not need to have a separate headphone amp, although most headphones will sound better with one. Sounds great on iPhones and iPods.

2. Big bass! So if you listen to dance, electronic or rock etc. you will like these earphones. Bass is controlled well though...not 'boomy' or sloppy as per the HiFi780.

3. High end can sound a little sharp to start with, but after a few months of use they will soften. Mid's are good...controlled and detailed.

4. Well made. Solid construction...they do not creak or feel cheap...very much the opposite.

5. Comfortable to wear, although the headband can be tight at first...again though this will loosen as you wear them. i left mine one an arm chair arm over night...and they feel much better now. This sounds a bit stupid, but its very common for the manufacturer to have the headband air on the smaller side, as its easy to stretch them to fit a larger head...but hard to shrink them for a smaller head.

Overall I am really happy with these earphones and I think anyone that listens to electronic music will be as well. Amazon also has the best price I could find! $140 (US) from Amazon....they sell for almost $400 in Australia. Thats a huge saving and an absolute steel for the quality of these earphones.

4A little sharp bite at the top end but good bass  Sep 15, 2010 By Brian Wachter "The Argosy"
I'm not a headphone guy but I do have a good ear and these are great 'phones. I bought them when I realized how crippling it is to only have one set of cans in my little studio. So I decided to let the recording engineer (me) listen to the mix live with these nice little puppies. It was a good call. These things are so good they have me experimenting with listening through them for pleasure even though I already have $4k worth of listening equipment. Accuracy was what I wanted, though, and here I have to give these a ding. Everything above the presence range is exaggerated enough to get a little in the way of the presence range. My caveat on that one, though, is than they've only been broken in about 20 hours--the minimum, I understand, recommended by the manufacturer. So maybe they'll balance out a little more with continued use. Also, I can't let myself forget your ears have to adjust to a new transducer, too.

4Love these headphones!  Nov 16, 2011 By henryandover
I love these headphones! They block out noise nicely and have pretty good sound. Unfortunately I was hoping for them to be slightly better, but I am very satisfied with them and got a fantastic price!

5Amazing Headphones  Oct 12, 2011 By Michael C Haner
These are the highest quality headphones I have ever owned. They are nice and neutral in their frequency response, the highs can be a tiny bit harsh sometimes but overall they are amazing. They don't over exaggerate the bass like so many "high-end" headphones on the market. *cough*beats*cough*
