Price just right Aug 30, 2010 Iam very satisfied with this purchase. The was price is good and the unit does what is expected. So far I have no problem with the performance. Light easy to use, purchased an ac power accessory, battery does not last long.
So far so great... Aug 12, 2010 I bought the DR07 to start documenting my travels overseas and time with friends and maybe toy with some radio documentary stuff. So far, the sound quality is excellent in quiet to average situations. Sounds great in restaurants and outside with little wind. Playing with the controls and the body make moderate recording noise, but it's easy enough to avoid. I wish it came with an AC adaptor though.
Super Digital Recorder Aug 08, 2010 Bought this for my wife so she could record her piano compositions. Thought it would have small built-in speakers, but soon learned it must be played back through some other device. It is simple to operate, but batteries don't last very long, so I bought a universal power supply at Frys that works great. Very versatile recorder and does everything we need.
Works perfectly Aug 03, 2010 I purchased this device to replace a cassette recorder used to record church services. Using the tape device had become cumbersome and I was looking for an inexpensive alternative. The DR-07 filled my needs exactly.
I am using it in a "line-in" mode so I've had little chance to evaluate the built-in microphone, but in the few tests I tried with the mic, it seemed to work very well -- if a bit sensitive. I found it worked best when I attached it to a photo type tripod. If it is hand held, it picks up every small sound.
In the line in mode, it delivers clear, crisp sound. A two meg memory card (included) gives over three hours recording time in the "wav" mode, and 23+ hours in the "mp3" mode. I am using it in the "wav" mode, then I use a digital editor to produce our weekly radio broadcast, converting the final product to "mp3". I seem to get the highest quality in this manner.
Overall, the device has worked beyond my expectations. We have at least temporarily shelved our plan to buy a more expensive rack-mounted digital recorder (saving me and/or the church several hundred dollars) because the DR-07 works so very well. We've done about 10 hours of recording so far with no glitches at all.
The manual which comes with the unit is clear and well written for people like me who have little knowledge of how such devices work. Its display gives clear indication of what its doing and how its working and its internal setup/control screens are intuitive and easy to learn (nice for folks like me).
I'd recommend this product highly.
Good Deal Jul 31, 2010 I received this unit a few days ago. What I expected "excellant unit for the price" Easy to operate, manual has all the information needed to learn how to use the unit. No problem so far. The recording sound natural with direct mic. I don't regret buying this recorder for what I need.
