| | Description | MobilePre USB is the preamp with a built-in audio interface that's designed for laptop recording such as field recording and sampling expeditions. In fact, it's one of the only completely bus-powered preamps available. (Of course, you can use it on the desktop as well). A total of three kinds of audio inputs and outputs provide maximum flexibility for any application, including two on-board microphone/instrument preamps and high-impedance instrument inputs ideal for connecting guitars and basses. And unlike many competitors, zero-latency direct monitoring provides you with a streamlined professional recording experience. | |

Works Great! Feb 12, 2011
By John Meyer While I have only had the product a few hours, it has worked great for me on Windows 7 x64 Professional. Recording and playback through the included ProTools SE works as advertised.
*I was a little leery of the plastic construction at first, but it is very sturdy for what it is. *All of the potentiometers have a nice, silky smooth feel. *The preamps have strong gain, and are pretty much noise free (except for the last 10% or so).
Overall, the product is top notch for the price.

Good cheap USB interface Jul 04, 2011
By Quinn I've been using the previous version of the MobilePre with both Garageband and Logic Express and have had great results. There are, obviously, higher-end mic preamps out there, but this product has actually exceeded my expectations based on the price I paid. It's not jam-packed with features, but if you're just making simple demos with your voice, guitar, keys, etc. you really don't need that much. I haven't had any issues whatsoever with it. As long as you are careful to get the input level right (as loud as possible, but without clipping the signal) you really can't go wrong.

Nice Little Audio Interface For My Mac Pro! Jul 14, 2011
By Chris R. Lobdell
"DXer"
I needed something to use with my older [2007] Mac Pro tower so I could input audio from other sources such as "shortwave radios" and Microphones. This unit works just fine. Just plug it in to your Mac with the usb cable, no need to install the drivers and it works with my existing audio programs. The preamp knobs allow precise level adjustment. There are little lights for each channel to let you know when the levels are too high as well. I'm very happy!

Worth the money Oct 28, 2011
By David Hall Vocals with this usb audio interface from M-Audio is well worth the money. The vocals and sound are much clearer, and it is better than what I was using before. If you have a professional or home studio, I would suggest trying this interface for better clarity.

Good interface - questionable free software Feb 15, 2011
By David Nino The product offers a free version of Pro-Tool SE, unfortunately Pro-tools SE has many issues and doesn't run on windows 7. M-Audio doesn't provide support for the software, and Avid doesn't help neither. If you buy this product as audio interface with other software like Sonar, you are fine. But, don't think that the protools se will make your life happy. at least this version is not worthy of your time.
