Superb Performance from an Old Friend Apr 15, 2010
By O. Charles Abernethy Having used the MidiSport 2x2 (green model) for many years, I felt a lot of confidence in purchasing this unit (2 of these.)
I had recently purchased a green model, but it didn't seem to work --or I couldn't correctly install the drivers in MS Win Vista or Win 7. So, I was a bit apprehensive, when I got the black anniversary model of the "little box."
Imagine my pleasant surprise, when both Vista and Win 7 recognized it and installed the drivers plug-and-play style --automatically! In addition to sequencing from an 88-note weighted keyboard, I wanted to play my newly-acquired Garritan Authorized Steinway and TruePianos PC software. The ultimate digital pianos. In order to make these pianos work right, you have to jump through some hoops and get your ducks in a row. (The low-latency piece was solved with ASIO4All at 64 buffers...) With the high-definition internal sound "card" in my new Hp G60 630US laptop, the sound is immaculate. Truly.
The MidiSport 2x2 Anniversay model actually works better than the USB MIDI interface from either My Roland RD-700SX or my Roland Fantom X8 high-end keyboard/workstations! Less noise and less drop-outs... Go figure. Not bad-mouthing Roland instruments: they are my current favorites. Just bought a brand-new RD-700GX. I love it!.
The MIDISport's indicator lights and markings make it very easy to connect and to determine if it's configured and operating properly. Highly recommended.

Simple and Works Great Apr 28, 2011
By H. Hinrichsen I use this for a number of things -- I take it frequently back and forth between work, where I do a lot of work with Midi Show Control, and home, where I use it with my MIDI piano and software synthesizers. This device works great, is virtually plug and play, and does exactly what it needs to do very reliably.
Overall, an excellent product -- I wholeheartedly recommend it!
M-Audio Midisport 2x2 MIDI adapter Oct 17, 2011
By Lthrboots I needed a MIDI adapter since my sound card with MIDI on it is outdated. This adapter somewhat works, but has a lot of setup and functioning issues. It is also very light and not made of great materials. It is very simple, but also very cheaply made. If you are just starting out, I would recommend this adapter, but if you are already an advanced MIDI user, I would tell you to just spend the extra money on a high-end video card with MIDI adapters.
PROS: compact, good for beginners to MIDI
CONS: cheaply made, hard to get the MIDI set up to work correctly, some latency issues. Not recommended for advanced MIDI users. (I will probably just put this on the shelf and go get a high-end MIDI sound card.
