Description

Developed by the same engineering team behind our industry-leading reference monitors, the M-Audio GSR10 two-way 250-watt active sound reinforcement speaker combines pro-quality sound with road-worthy performance. For smooth, balanced response, we employed a precision-engineered 24 dB/octave crossover to integrate the 1" high-frequency Titanium compression driver and 10? low-frequency driver with 2.5" voice coil. Efficient Class-D amplifiers deliver unmatched clarity and ultra-high output while remaining cool- hour after hour, show after show. Unique tone presets make it easy to dial in great sound without being an engineer. It all comes together in a lightweight-yet-rugged compact enclosure, making the GSR10 perfect for any small to mid-size venue.

4Grea speakert for $250/pair  Mar 21, 2012 By John
I recently bought a pair of these little gems for the super low price of $250 shipped from PSSL for a local venue to use for banquet speeches and background music. They are perfect for exactly that or small wedding ceremonies. They do limit rather quickly when running a full signal into them but with a 100hz cut they get much louder. I have played them for 8 hours at moderate levels with no thermal shutdown but the plate amp will obviously get hot. The onboard EQ switch is great if you don't have any external EQ source. I find they sound the best flat on Normal mode. At low to mid volume they sound very much like my RCF 310A's but can't compare in total output. They two are in a class of ther own but the M - Audio's do sound good, better than my Peavey PR10's did. My favorite part of this speaker is the cabinet design, it just looks great and has comfortable handles in all the right places, not to mention it is super light. If I didn't already have a pair of RCF 310A's for ceremony use I would grab a pair of these for myself at this price, or maybe the 12's. Would I pay full retail of $300 each, defintely not but at $250/ pair they are a bargain for small gigs, ceremonies, backyard gatherings, or background music.

3Ok Speakers for the Price  Mar 30, 2012 By KaraokeBomb
Not bad for the price. These are lightweight speakers that will do the trick for small sound production applications such as a small wedding ceremony crowd or a small cocktail hour. Out of the box, the plastic piece logo that covers a light in the front for logo illumination was off, I easily put it back on. I fired it up and connected my ipod to it and had to turn the volume all the way up on the ipod and the volume knob past 2 o'clock on the speaker to get a good volume broadcast-able. The predetermined audio option switch isn't too shabby, I always prefer individual control, but what can you complain about for the price right? You can always adjust at the mixer level to tweak the sound if need be. In all they are a good deal at $99, but I wouldn't pay more than that as there are some other brands that have decent priced options that sound as good. I would only recommend you get them at the $99 price. If you need something for small situations or personal use then this is for you.

4Amazing little micro powered speaker for the price.  Apr 12, 2012 By DJMC "Matt"
At the bargain price of $200 for a pair, the M-Audio GSR-10 is quite possibly the deal of a lifetime!

I've been a DJ for two decades, and I remember paying $400 for a 250 watt per channel amplifier, and $600 for a pair of decent loudspeakers.

Now, you get that same 250 watt amp built into the speaker, and the whole pair of speakers cost $200. (That's like an 80% price reduction)

Having purchased both the 10" and the 12" models of the M-Audio line--I'd say they're somewhere between Gemini and Yamaha on the quality spectrum. They look nice, are built solidly, and sound just fine if you don't drive them to upper limits. There's only so much a plastic box and 250-300 watts can produce, given the laws of physics etc. etc.

With the GSR-10, using the "DJ" mode accentuates the bass frequencies, which also adds a huge amount of distortion to the sound. At the "Normal" mode, which gives them a flat frequency response, you get more musical tones.

When used in conjunction with a sub-woofer, I'd rate the GSR-10 a competent mini powered speaker for the price. Without a subwoofer, it can be used for very small wedding ceremonies or background music, or as "backup" speakers.
