| | Description | Direct Sound EX-25 headphones are the only headphones on the planet that have dynamic closed-back speakers within a closed back isolation chamber. Maybe that's what gives EX-25's extreme isolation.EX-25 extreme isolation headphones applications. For sound engineers to monitor the mixer board during live performances while isolating their ears from main speakers. For stage and studio drummers who want to hear how drums are being mixed without having headphones at high volume. Allows studio musicians to hear only the studio mix during recording - eliminating costly return trips to the control room. For stadium and dome events listen to live broadcasts at medium volume and block out most stadium noise listening to the show or game. | |

Satisfied Jul 04, 2009

Headband is very tight, I had to wear it angled forward for comfort. Audiophiles may be dissapointed by the sound quality but I would rate it above average. My old Panasonic RP-HT240 had better sound quality but it's headphone cup cushion material was flimsy (disintegrating within 5 yrs) whereas these EX-25 headphone cups are high quality, functional & durable. This does not use sound circuitry which I considere a plus since those electronic gimicks add a bit of white noise. You must be cautious about wire connection at the headphone cups since it's not a very sturdy connection. Long cable length. Airplane headset adapter jack not included.

Excellent Sound, Good Noise-Cancellation, Very Good Value Dec 04, 2010

I bought these headphones for use with a Sony FX-950 DVD/CD Player. The sound is excellent. When playing DVD's I can hear background sounds that were inaudible using the player's stock speakers. The over-the-ear earcups provide a high degree of isolation / noise cancellation from undesirable outside sources.
Another reviewer said that the "handband is very tight." I cannot understand this comment since the headband is adjustable and will accomodate a very large head.
I believe this product to be a particularly good value for the price.

Only lasted 30 days.Ear cans broke off. Feb 24, 2011
By MQUINNUSA I thought I hit a gold mine when I ordered these headphones. I work from home and have 4 year old twin boys. They are loud. When I first got these headphones, they were awesome. Someone could be standing in front of me, and I would just see their mouth move, but not hear anything. Fast forward 30 days, and both cans broke off when I dropped them on my desk, 18" from my head. The connection between the can and the headband is a thin piece of plastic. No reinforcement pin, no nothing. How sad am I. I am torn because I love the headphones, but the connection between the can and headband is so crappy I cannot bring myself to buy another pair.

Decent Product May 16, 2011
By J. J. Chaya I was really hoping for a bit more sound isolation for an open office environment than what I got. None the less, the product is mostly as advertised and fits my needs. I did not go with the more sound isolating EX-29 because of size and weight. Even the smaller and lighter EX-25s are a bit heavier than what I ideally would like for wearing for long periods of time in an office. For comfort reasons between weight and tightness, I need to take them off periodically. Not to say it is a short coming of the product, just that is what you are going to get with any full size over the ear headphone.

Defective Jan 19, 2011
By Cris We purchased four pairs of these headphones and all pairs broke at the strap connecting to the earpiece.
Would not recommend these to anyone.
