4A ProTools Must  Apr 25, 2009 By S. Koue
I work with PT every day and have gotten by for years with the stickers but that keyboard started acting up so I needed a replacement. This KB from Digi used to go for $250, way too much when everybody elses custom keyboards were $130-$160. Digi listen to user complaints awhile back and reduced the price now it's right in line with what other custom keyboards cost (actually a bit cheaper). It's an Apple keyboard with the caps replaced. On mine the K & J had been swapped by who ever installed the caps so others might want to take a quick scan of the layout to make sue everything is where it should be. Replacing the caps is a by hand job so I'm not surprised that there would be a slip now and again. It's very easy to fix just pull up (or pry with a butter knife if you cant get a grip or don't have a key caps tool (I had one but couldn't find it so I used the knife). The caps just pop off. Swap them and push them down and you will feel them pop back into place. I won't say it's impossible to break anything doing this but it is VERY hard to do damage swapping the keys.
I took off one star for the QA oops. It's not a big deal but someone probably should have caught the mixup.
