These ARE Ultimate Ears. Compare them to: Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro May 17, 2007

I am writing this review because I was amazed by the lack of knowledge here. This is the same product as ultimate ears, now merged with M-audio. Fantastic In-EARS! Owned generations of Grado products and UE, these I can honestly compare to the grado 325's (excellent cans) and the UE Super.fi 5 Pro. Used for all electronic music, techno, hard bass stuff, doesn't matter even in loud spaces, INSANE QUALITY SOUND. I don't sit here and write reviews, I'm just so impressed my favorite company (m-audio) merged with UE to give you a solid product. Highly Recommended.

Finally I have a good set of earphones Aug 22, 2008
By R. mccafferty I have been through the regular route of $150 and under earphones for my iphone.
vmoda vibe duo's ====> muddy mids
skull candy fmj ====> good bass but thats it.
Ultimate v4i =====> great mids and highs, but no bass
These have the ultimate 5 pro's inners.
They sound great, nice and smooth and clean. I am well experienced with the in ear type of earphones, and have no issues with them coming out.
The only negative is the 1/2 inch that sticks out of my ears, I dont mind though.
PS. These will show all the bad encoding of your mp3's. I have to re encode my music, i can now hear every flaw, im doin the 320 bit rate from now on.
;)

Love These Dec 09, 2010
By DoughBot These are the best sounding monitors I've ever owned! Makes all my computers sound phenomenal. I'm constantly trying to listen to streaming videos and music while live instruments are playing right next to me, and these have worked really well under those conditions. The quality of the sound from the IE-30 brings whatever it is I'm listening to, to life!

I really wanted to like them, but... Nov 25, 2009
By Steve Keller

After extremely favorable reviews last year in Keyboard and Electronic Musician, I have wanted a pair of these for a while. Finally bought a pair, and returned them the next day. Bass is weak, mid-range is weak. I am not a "golden ears" guy, but have been a professional musician for 40 years, and have my own home studio. I know what sounds good; more importantly, I know what sounds "right" - balanced, even, open and clear. These headphones have NOT ONE of the those qualities.
Horns sound like they are buried in the mix due to emphasis on the high end. Bass is not there, piano sounds tinny, the only thing that sounds real are the cymbals, and they lack depth.
Even worse, because these are inserted into the ear farther than your standard ear-buds, they are uncomfortable to wear, at least for me. I tried all the sizes of the silicone ear tips, none of them were comfortable.
I own several M-Audio products, and they are all of high quality both build wise and sound wise. They struck out here; the product is very poor.
Best In-Ear Headphones On The Market For The Price... Or Maybe Regardless of Price May 26, 2011
By fufanuer I Love Love Love these headphones. So sad to see them unavailable. You can switch out the buds to get a good feel, they sound incredible, and the cord is replaceable. I had the headphones for 2-3 years before I replaced the cable. What a great concept -- replace a $30 cable not the $250 earbuds. The cable is always the first thing to go on any headphones. I hope other companies follow suit with this feature. I am definitely going buy these again... I just lost my pair :( If they don't show up, I'll find a place to buy these IE-30's.
