This are the ATH series phones to get Dec 15, 2009
By Matthew Amster-Burton

Everybody recommends the ATH-M40fs phones in this series. So I bought a pair, and it's true: they're very comfortable and they sound great. However, they're not terribly portable, because they don't fold up. And they only come with a 1/4" connector. I got a clumsy adapter that didn't work particularly well with my laptop.
The ATH-M35 is a better set of cans. They folds up and come with a drawstring bag. The plug is 1/8", and a nice screw-on 1/4" adapter is included. The sound is great. Basically, these are just like the Sony MDR-7506 phones at half the price. Excellent product.

Great Value; Good Quality Mar 02, 2011
By D. Forbes High quality construction, good sound, cool looking. Only complaint is the length of the cord (too long), but since these are professional quality it makes sense; plus it's an easy work around - just loop up the cord and fasten it (I used the twist ties that were part of the headphones' packaging). If you're looking for bass heavy/very loud headphones these aren't for you - they don't amplify anything in proportion to the overall sound, but instead provide a true and balanced listening experience.

Great headphones Sep 10, 2010

Just got these, so far they are great. my last headphones were audiotechnica m20's which I have used for 5 years. I can already tell that these are better quality. although these phones fold up, I fell like they fold up too easily and sometimes feel a bit uncomfortable. As a DJ I'm often taking my headphones on and off; on one ear is really convenient as the phones grip your head. when around your neck its a bit akward since they're practically choking you.
Overall I recommend these--as long as you aren't trying to look hip with these around your neck--superior sound quality for the price.

Great Headphones Jan 19, 2011

I'm comparing these to my previous headphones, an admirable set of Grado SR 60's, which, unfortunately, became unserviceable when I inadvertently snapped off the headphone jack.
I am not in the strictest sense an audiophile, but I know what sounds good, and music through these headphones sounds very very good. They reproduce audio in its fullest range, from deep thumping bass to soaring highs. And at a little more than 1/2 the cost of the Grado's, well, I consider them a bargain. I don't know what spending more could possible get you. They are comfortable, look good, and most importantly, sound great.

Quite Impressed Feb 15, 2012

I just got these in the mail after waiting a week and a half for them. I have more headphones than I can put in this review, so I am not going to rattle off a list. Most of the headphones that I own have been under fifty with the exception of Yuins and Senn cx95s. Lately as I age, I have gotten away from IEMs because I feel that they make me more prone to ear problems(infections and pressure). I resorted to my trusty KX-75's, but the cable went out.(this is my third pair and I baby them) Even though I have new cable in the mail because I am going to recable them and because I have modded them so much(Kramer quarter and drilled-tuned), I decided to take a chance on these because I find my Senn 202's painful after half an hour(not to mention the lack of crispy treble that I love) and my old Koss Pro4xs don't quite have the bass I want. After listening for ten minutes, I am MORE than satisfied. These sound excellent with all types of music. I have tested everything from my beloved classical recordings to heavy electronic music and they handled all with ease. I am very picky with sound as evidenced by my large headphone collection, but already, I know these will be my favorite headphones. They do take a bit of juice to drive, but they make my Ipod classic listenable. I usually only listen to my clip or my D2+. I cannot speak to wav or lossy because all of my rips are 128-192 MP3's,(EAC/Lame),and AAC, but they make compressed music sound excellent. Take a chance on them. I think that you might be as pleased as I am.
