Audio-Technica ATH-M10 Oct 07, 2011
By matt I bought these even after seeing a lot of mixed reviews.
I bought these specifically for studio monitor headphones for my home PC recording system. Let me say that these are great studio headphones, period. The highs and mids cut through with perfect clarity with out being shrill. The Low end is less pronounced but it does produce the low end sounds too, however they do not produce a thumping booming boosted bass tone.
that being said, that is exactly the reason I bought them! I did not want added bass tones while recording, only to find out the bass is barley audible when played back on standard speakers.
These are clearly not the best studio headphones money can buy, but they are the best for the cost IMHO. if you are buying these to listen to your iPOD or home stereo or DJ mix,..forget it, don't bother, you wont like them. If you are on a budget and in need of a pair of great studio monitor cans, these do the job well.

more than headphones Oct 03, 2011
By David Kuzio Believe it or not I use these to muffle the noise while riding my tractor to cut the lawn. Since they are closed back they cut down the noise quite a bit. PS They're good for their intended purpose also!
OK for the price Mar 12, 2012
By Jeff I just wanted a pair of cheap throw around headphones for monitors when recording. They get loud enough, but have that "tin-can" sound. Everything sounds dead and lifeless compared to most other headphones. I would look elsewhere and spend a few more bucks if your worried about sound quality.
Surprised Dec 20, 2011
By Robert B. Romero I bought these for mixing music and was pleasantly surprised by them. Here's why:
-Comfort-
I have a pair of AD-700's as well, which are some of the most comfortable head phones I've ever had the pleasure of owning. Needless to say, the ATH-M10's ($30.00 head phones) are on par with said AD-700's in comfort ($110.00 head phones).
-Construction-
This is probably the biggest fault with these head phones. Although I wouldn't necessarily call them "cheap", they're definitely not the sturdiest cans. I knew this right away just by holding them. Not worth deducting the score though. You get what you pay for.
-Sound-
As I said, I got these for mixing and they deliver the flat response that I require. Surprisingly, I enjoy using these for listening to music more than the AD700's. Although the treble and mids aren't as smooth or clear as the AD700's, they have the bass that the AD700's lack. I mainly use the AD700's for gaming anyways.
Overall, these will do until I save up enough money to get the ATH-M50's I've been eyeballing. For 30 bucks, you really can't beat it.

Frequency Response Jan 09, 2012
By Chris Weidner To save someone the trouble, Amazon for some reason doesn't display the frequency response, but after just returning these, I'll tell you what the package said. 30hz is as low as these go. So don't expect much of any bass, because they don't go there. I just blew 16 bucks on shipping to find this out, but now I save you that cost. To be clear, I did buy these, the reviews sounded good, but shipped them back. Living in an apartment, you can't have the loudest sound system, so headphones are crucial.
